Beam is a next generation confidential cryptocurrency based on MimbleWimble protocol. MimbleWimble can solve the problems of confidentiality and scalability. In order to ensure its ASIC resistance, the hard fork will be performed within the 12 to 18 months and then the mining algorithm will be frequently adjusted every half a year.
Now, it’s time to learn how to mine BEAM with f2pool 🐟
Part 1 — Mining equipment and environment
Mining equipment: It supports CPU and GPU (N-card, A-card, The card memory should be 3G and above) mining. It doesn’t support ASIC mining machines such as A9 and Z9. GTX1060 3G card can also be used to mine and currently it is supported by Gminer1.25, miner OS and easy miner.
Operating system: Windows, Linux and currently does not support Mac system.

Part 2 — Obtain BEAM Wallet Address
Full node wallet:
Please note: When generating the wallet address, select “Never” for the “Expires” option to avoid loss caused by wallet address failure. The mnemonic of the full-node wallet should be saved and cannot be leaked because it will be used or restored the wallet address when using on new devices. Part 3 — Download mining software
The mining software can be downloaded through the following links:
F2Pool version (NVIDIA & AMD):
Both the f2pool software and official software will provide the same result, however, you may save time during the setup if you use the f2pool developed mining software. The f2pool version has a batch file for miners and the default mining pool is set to f2pool. Therefore, you can simply replace the wallet address in the configuration parameters with your own BEAM wallet address and save the settings.

Part 4 — Miner Configuration
Download and unzip the software in the “start” file, as below:
Right click on the “start” file, choose “Edit”, and configure the parameters as below:
bminer -uri beamhash2+ssl://firstname.lastname@example.org:5000
Please note: If using F2Pool version software, miners only need to replace the wallet address and the worker name (a name given to your mining machine, which can be letters or numbers and separated by a dot “.”), then save the file and start mining. If using the original one, it is needed to create a batch file yourself by referring to the above command.
After confirming the information above, save the configuration.
Download the Gminer mining software and unzip the files. Right click on “start.bat” and click “Edit”.
Set the parameters as follows:
miner.exe –algo BeamHash –server beam.f2pool.com –port 5000 –ssl 1 –user wallet_address.worker_name
Set the BEAM pool URL and port number, and set your own BEAM wallet address and worker name as shown in the image above. If you have multiple miners, the worker name is used to distinguish between different machines. The wallet address and worker name should be separated by a period “.”.
Do not delete any space or punctuation mark when modifying the file, as that will cause the file to be corrupted. Please save the file after the modifications are completed.
After saving the “start.bat” file and then double-click to start mining.
4.3 BEAM official mining software
Take the N-card mining as an example, download the mining software and unzip the files. Right click on “start.bat” and click “Edit”.
Set the parameters as follows:
beam-cuda-miner –server beam.f2pool.com:5000 –key wallet_address.worker_name
beam-opencl-miner –server beam.f2pool.com:5000 –key wallet_address.worker_name
