XZC (Zcoin) Mining Tutorial

Zcoin (XZC) has completed a hard fork on December 10th at 12:00 UTC, switching the algorithm to MTP. It has a high ASIC resistant and can resist malware to control the computer mining. The ultimate goal is to achieve “equivalent calculation”, and make the power distribution more balanced.

The new Zcoin after the hard fork can be mined through CPU and GPU. Here is an outline below.

I. Obtain the wallet address

[Full-node wallet]:

Make sure you have updated to the latest Zcoin release ( .

[Light wallet]:

Cobo(https://cobo.com/),it is a professional cryptocurrency wallet APP, convenient and safe, and recommended to all cryptocurrency miners.

II. Obtain the mining software

[F2Pool version (CPU & NVIDIA & AMD)]:

[Baidu NetDisk]

[MEGA Disk]

[Original version]:

CPU mining software: https://github.com/zcoinofficial/cpuminer/releases

NVIDIA mining software:

AMD mining software:

(Here we advice to use the original version of mining software. Refer to the tutorial for the

configuration of mining parameters)

III. Set parameters in the mining software and start mining

1) N-card mining

Download the N-card mining software.Unzip it, as shown below:

Right click on “RUN-ZCOIN-MTP” and select “Edit”,the parameters shall be set as below:

ccminer.exe -a mtp -o stratum+tcp://xzc.f2pool.com:5780 -u wallet_address.worker_name -p password

Check XZC mining pool URL and input your own address and the worker number for receiving XZC. If there is more than one miner, worker numbers will make a distinction between different miners, besides, do not omit that dot. When making any modification, please modify the corresponding characters only. Do not delete any spacing or punctuation. As shown below:

Click on “Save” after completing the modifications.

Explanations for specific parameters are as follows:

ccminer Here stands for the mining software to run under this folder directory

-a denotes the invoked mining algorithm

-o is to set the address of the mining pool server to connect and its port number, where the address can be an IP or domain name. By default, fill in F2Pool mining pool address here and port: stratum+tcp://xzc.f2pool.com:5780

-u denotes the mining user name and worker number. This is a priority among priorities, and you may receive no earning if filling out by mistake. Here an XZC wallet address as well as a worker number needs to be set. In official mining please replace this wallet address with the recharge address the exchange has designated to you or with your own wallet address.

After completing the settings, save the file “RUN-ZCOIN-MTP”, and double click on it to start mining.

2) A Card Mining

Download the “wildrig” mining software from the above link and extract the files to the current folder as shown below:

Right click on the “start” file, select “Edit”, set the parameters as follows:

wildrig.exe --algo mtp --opencl-threads 1 --opencl-launch 16x0 --url stratum+tcp://xzc.f2pool.com:5780 --user wallet_address.worker_name --pass x

As shown below:

After the mining parameters are set, save and exit the “start” file, then double-click to run the file and start mining.

Please note:

1. Use the A card to mine Zcoin, the card memory requirement is at least 8G, and the graphic memory also needs 8G.

2. There are three “start” files in this folder. You can test the hashrate by yourself and run the one with higher hashrate. In addition, run the file that is modified the parameters, otherwise the modified parameters are invalid.

3) CPU mining

After obtaining the CPU mining software, unzip the file and locate the file “RUN-ZCOIN-MTP”.

Right click on the file “RUN-ZCOIN-MTP”, select “Edit” and open the file. The parameter settings are shown as below:

cpuminer.exe -a mtp -o stratum+tcp://xzc.f2pool.com:5780 -u wallet_address.worker_name -p password -t numberofthreads

As shown in the following image, save the file after replacing your own wallet address.

Note: For the “RUN-ZCOIN-MTP” file, select “cpuminer” by default as the target application program to start mining. Miners can choose the most suitable threads for CPU to mine according to the mining hashrate. Besides, the parameter “-t” can be used to configure the quantities of threads. If it is not configured, it will be treated as the maximum thread values by default.

It is recommended to have a computer with at least 8 gb of RAM as the miner consumes about 6 gb of RAM.

IV. Monitor the mining machine’s operating status and view revenue

To view the operational status and daily income of the mining machine, you can access the F2Pool official website, click on the search bar in the upper right corner, and enter the wallet address to check.

You can also view the information through our f2pool app. From the login screen, select “Quick View” in the bottom right corner and enter your wallet address.

Please note: After you set up your miner, it may take a little time before your mining data will sync with the f2pool website and app.

V. Procedure of setting auto-start of a mining program at boot

Set the mining software as per the aforementioned requirements. Select “Create a Shortcut” to

create a shortcut for the mining software, and then paste this shortcut to the folder at

C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\StartUp.

(The ProgramData folder contains hidden files and you need to select “Show Hidden Folders” to check)

Next, rebooting your computer and the mining software can auto-start at boot.
