ZEL (Zelcash) Mining Tutorial

About ZEL (Zelcash)

ZelCash, referred to as ZEL, relying on zero-knowledge proof to provide private anonymous transactions, can also release a cross-chain decentralized development platform. Since July 2nd, the mining algorithm is ZelHash, which is an Equihash-based algorithm that supports GPU mining and does not support A9, Z9, Z11 and other ASIC mining machines.

Quick Links

1. Obtain suitable hardware

  • ✅ ZEL can be efficiently mined with GPU cards and FPGA mining machines.
  • ❌ ZEL cannot be efficiently mined with CPU or ASIC mining machines.

View our Miners page to discover the most profitable GPU cards for ZEL.

2. Obtain wallet address

A ZEL wallet address is required for you to receive and monitor your mining revenue.

Mining revenue is distributed daily to every user that reaches the payout threshold. The payout threshold is 50 ZEL and details about payout method, fees and threshold can be found here.

You need to get a wallet address if you don’t have one already. We recommend  the Official Wallet. And you can also use an exchange wallet such as Stex.

3.  Obtain mining software

Choose from one of the popular mining software currently available for ZEL.

4. Configure your mining device

4.1 Gminer

Download the mining software and unzip the files. Right-click on “start.bat” and click “edit”.

miner –algo 125_4 –server zel.f2pool.com –port 3800 –user wallet_address.worker_name –pass c=ZEL

4.2 lolminer

Download the mining software and unzip the files. Right-click on “start.bat” and click “edit”.

lolMiner.exe –coin ZEL –pool zel.f2pool.com –port 3800 –user wallet_address.worker_name

5. Start mining!

Your machines are ready to start mining. From “Address Search” on the F2Pool homepage, you can insert your wallet address and monitor your hashrate, revenue, and payouts. You can also view the information through our F2Pool App. From the login screen, select “Quick View” in the bottom right corner and enter your wallet address.
